I’ve had the pleasure of working with Helena Powell since 2009, when I became the editor of the Mindfulness Bell magazine, which she had designed for many years. Helena welcomed me into the new position and devoted time to bringing me on board and developing clear standards for our collaboration. Since then, I’ve enjoyed sharing a productive and positive working relationship with Helena. The Mindfulness Bell is a publication of Thich Nhat Hanh’s global community and it reaches thousands of people each year. It is important to us that the publication reflects mindfulness and beauty, and Helena helps us to create each page of each issue in that spirit. She has a sharp eye for design, a great wealth of experience, an efficient and responsible approach, a knack for crystal clear communication, and – most importantly – a compassionate heart and a fun sense of humor. I appreciate Helena’s steady diligence and her many creative talents.

Managing Editor
the Mindfulness Bell

When I began working with Helena in 2001, our international Buddhist journal needed a serious redesign. Her ideas were so simple and elegant, they helped to express our message more clearly and beautifully than we imagined possible. mb61-cover-800
